A delegation from the Lagos State Civil Service has commended the Ogun State Government for the pace of work on the Gateway International Airport project.
The team, led to the airport site by the Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, was received by the Commissioner for Transportation, Engr. Gbenga Dairo, and the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya. The Consultant to the Governor on Aviation, Capt. Olumide, conducted the visitors round the project.
The delegation, headed by the Lagos State Head of Service, was in Ogun for a week-long programme at the Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona School of Governance, organised by the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru.
Speaking during the tour, members of the team said the Gateway International Airport, when completed, would help decongest the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos and improve economic activities across the South-West.
The delegation also visited Olumo Rock in Abeokuta, which was recently renovated by the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun. They described the historic site as a major cultural attraction capable of boosting tourism in the state.
The Gateway International Airport is one of the key projects of Governor Abiodun’s administration and is expected to serve as a hub for travel, commerce and investment when completed.
